The Chinese General Hospital Dr. James Dy Wound Healing and Diabetic Foot Center is a one stop shop multidisciplinary clinic that offers a comprehensive advance treatment for chronic, non-healing wounds.

Here at the Dr. James Dy Wound Healing and Diabetic Foot Center, our goal is to heal chronic wounds, preserve limbs and prevent wound recurrence. We provide the finest treatment while improving the comfort and quality of life of our patients. One of our focus here at the center is the early recognition of patients “at risk” of developing diabetic foot. Our aim is to provide preventive measures to minimize and prevent lower limb amputations.

What We Do

Our team are dedicated physicians and nurses who have the expertise to understand and treat the varied circumstances and challenges of complex wounds. Our dedicated wound care nurses teach preventive measures, coordinates care between specialties, and monitors the wounds. We focus on recognizing patients who are at risk of developing diabetic foot as early as possible. Once identified, a comprehensive foot screening, risk stratification and empowerment on proper wound and foot care will be performed.

The Dr. James Dy Wound Healing Center offers the Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), a treatment used to speed up healing of carbon monoxide poisoning, gangrene, stubborn wounds, and infections in which tissues are starved for oxygen. It utilizes a special chamber where patients breathe in pure oxygen in air pressure levels 1.5 to 3 times higher than average. The goal is to fill the blood with enough oxygen to repair tissues and restore normal body function.

Patients with the following conditions are recommended to undergo

  • Diabetes
  • Wounds and ulcer
  • Skin, bone, and tissue conditions
  • Post-radiation damage
  • Injury and accidents

The HBOT is important as it prompts healing and growth of new blood vessels. Deactivates clear toxins, metabolic wastes, and improves healing and ability to fight infection.
