CGHMC’s Radiology Department recently upgraded its CT Unit with the 512 GE Revolution CT Scanner, one of the first of its kind in the Philippines. This CT machine features the latest Smart Dose Technologies for more accurate diagnosis and lower patient exposure across routine and advanced examinations such as dynamic acquisitions for perfusion and 4D studies. This allows the hospital to deliver a wider range of services with its new applications.

Among its improved application is the Coronary CT Angiography, allowing the heart to be imaged in one beat, whatever the heart rate, while helping to reduce dose by up to 82% when the new reconstruction ASiR-V is applied. Only one acquisition is required, eliminating any issue with mismatched images.

The Revolution CT also provides complete confidence in image assessment. Patient receives a lower dose, faster assessment, greater patient comfort, and economic savings because it can be performed as an outpatient procedure. Dose reduction is a key feature of the new system and can be achieved without impairing image quality, an important feature for young and elderly patients.

The four key benefits of Revolution CT Scanner include/ diagnostic confidence (innovative technologies that help acquire images; patient care (ultra-low dose from leading iterative reconstruction technology); financial performance (speed, simplicity, and productivity from intelligent design); and clinical excellence (cutting-edge applications for the fastest growing, most advanced procedures).
